The South Bay just keeps getting better.
The construction of a new shopping and dining complex in El Segundo is well under way with developers of the project planning to open its doors sometime this summer. The $80-million complex will be called The Point and is located at the crossroads of Rosecrans Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard in El Segundo. The complex will have a myriad of popular retailers and eateries, meaning you’ll have plenty of new shopping and dining options come summer.
Here are some of the merchants that will be opening their doors at The Point:
- Athleta
- Soul Cycle
- Mendocino Farms
- Lucky Brand
- Superba Food & Bread
- The Food Kitchen
- North Italia
- No Rest For Bridget
Before continuing with the details, let me just say that I, for one, am very excited for Superba to make its way down from Venice.
There will be no vehicular access through the middle of the complex, as all of the shops will face an attractive plaza. The Point will offer an abundance of parking just to the east, which will include 200 spaces encircling the entire development.
The complex is being constructed by Federal Realty Investment Trust, which also owns the shopping center next door. The Point is meant to complement the neighboring Plaza El Segundo, which features many large retail stores such as Home Depot, Whole Foods, Dicks’s Sporting Goods and Best Buy.
When the entire complex is complete, it will house a unique mix of merchants. The Point will include a landscaped plaza, a children’s play area and several engaging water features. The next batch of retailers to open their doors at The Point will be announced soon.
