Local South Bay Schools Are In Demand

I like to talk about how important our local schools are to the South Bay, like I did in my post about Hermosa Beach school expansions. Sure, the weather in the South Bay is amazing, the views are spectacular, the small-town feel is unlike anything else in Southern California, and property out here is among the most valuable in the state in 2014. But what really makes new buyers value their new communities is the quality of the local schools.

In a new survey conducted by realtor.com, the next generation of homebuyers – dubbed millennials (born between 1980 and 2000) – said they would move to communities based on whether they can find quality schools for their children. Millennials put  far more importance on school districts when they are looking for new properties to purchase. In fact, more than half of them say that if a school district is not up to their standards, they won’t even consider a home in that neighborhood. Because millennials have small children or are planning on soon having children, schools are foremost in their minds, and they will pay a premium for them.

Luckily for South Bay property owners, we have some of the best schools in Southern California. The Redondo Beach Unified School District, Hermosa Beach City School District, Manhattan Beach Unified School District, and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District are all multiple award-winners. Many of our local schools are green and eco-conscious. All of them rate extremely high when it comes to academics. In short, the next generation of home buyers is going to be targeting the South Bay because of these schools. Property owners can rest assured that their property will be in demand, and buyers can start looking into our communities and planning to move here before everyone else figures out just how good our local schools are.

If you have any questions about our South Bay schools, I’d love to tell you more!
