Alison Clay-Duboff | RE/MAX Estate Properties

Alison Clay-Duboff refers to herself as “dorky” because she develops sentiment for her clients (she recently stayed up all night over paperwork, making sure everything was perfect) after working so closely with them, but the outgoing real estate agent is a savvy businesswoman with a lot of personality and zest for life.

For seven years, Alison has been a real estate agent with RE/MAX in the South Bay. Prior to that, her colorful life included living in Paris and Saudi Arabia as well as world travel. “My first taste of real estate was helping expatriates find housing in Paris, France.” she says. “I loved it and apparently was good at matching many executive’s needs with appropriate housing. And I was becoming Parisian! I quickly became bilingual English/ French.  I am proud to say that at a minimum I can also say ‘Thank You’ in many other tongues.”

Alison’s clients value her insight, her charm, and her charisma as well as her real estate experience. She is just as likely to be romping on the beach with several of her favorite dogs as she is to be closely following the hyperlocal vicissitudes of the Beach Cities real estate market.

A firm believer that home values will continue to rise, particularly in Manhattan Beach neighborhoods, Alison recognizes that there is an increasingly higher demand for property in those areas. Proactive about staying on top of the market, Alison believes that forming strong relationships with other real estate agents is the key to a harmonious industry and the best possible outcomes for her clients. In addition to local knowledge, Alison’s expertise also tends towards the mortgage market; she feels that the new lending guidelines from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau with QRM (Qualified Residential Mortgage) and ATR (Ability to Repay) “will have a large impact on my financed clients. Lowering of the debt-to-income ratio is going to impact the home-buying arena.”

Her motto is “making the seemingly impossible possible” and it refers to her belief that her job as a real estate agent is to make dreams into reality. “Achieving the goals my clients present to me,” she says, “Referrals—they are the best indication that I’ve done my job to the fullest of my abilities… I look forward to the future making dreams come true, or nightmares end, or just being a resource or a friend in need.”
